GOD likes giving

God is generous and gives abundantly. "And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.” (Genesis 13:14-15 NKJV)

This is a special blessing for a memorable occasion. Abram settled a family dispute and diffused the situation. He said, "So Abram said to Lot, 'Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen, for we are brethren.'" (Genesis 13:8 NKJV) and therefore he received the blessing that belongs to peacemakers. The Lord, who gives peace, delights in manifesting His grace to those who seek and pursue peace. If we desire to draw closer to God, we must remain on the path of peace.

Abram acted very generously towards his family by giving Lot the choice of the land. If we deny ourselves anything for the sake of peace, the Lord will more than make it up to us. As far as the patriarch could see, he could claim the land, and we can do the same through faith. Abram had to wait for physical possession, but the Lord had already given him and his descendants the land. Boundless blessings belong to us through the gift of the covenant. Everything belongs to us. When we please the Lord, He makes it possible for us to look everywhere and see that everything belongs to us, whether present or future. Everything belongs to God, and Christ belongs to God, and we belong to Christ.
