Christ’s Ambassador

We’re ambassadors of Christ when we’re in Christ, but we should remain in Christ! When we’re outside of Christ we have no power or any authority in this world.

"They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world". (‭‭John‬ ‭17‬‬:‭16‬ NASB1995)

An ambassador forfeits their power and authority when sin enters and dominates their life. Ambassadors have a rule book (the law of the land) they need to comply with, and we have a Bible. When sin overpowers the ambassador of Christ, we have medicine that helps us to recover from our pain and our sin and the issue of trust.

Some rules shouldn't be broken when you’re in a position of trust.

Rule 1: Respect yourself and others.

Rule 2: Taking advantage of people when they have a particular need.

Rule 3: Time (respect yours and the others).

Rule 4: Manipulation and abusing special privileges. Not allowed.

Rule 5: Twisting Truth. We need to speak truth even when it hurt sometimes. Honesty goes far.

Rule 6: Be reasonable

Rule 7: Always be dependent on God.

“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”

‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Paul sees that he serves in a foreign land as the representative of a King. The King has a message, and Paul is delivering that message as though God were pleading through us.

As an ambassador, Paul makes a simple and direct plea to the people to reconcile themselves with God. He is imploring the whole world to be reconciled with God Almighty. As ambassadors, we do not do the work of reconciliation, but we encourage it. Surgeon said: We are not commanded to do the work of reconciliation between man and God. He has done the work; it is merely ours to embrace and receive. "It is not so much reconcile yourselves as 'be reconciled.' Yield yourselves to him who round you now the bands of a man would cast, drawing you with cords of love because he was given for you… Submit yourselves. Yield to the grasp of those hands which were nailed to the cross for you." (Spurgeon)

Be part of the solution and not the pollution in this world.
