Make Room for people in your heart
Making room for people in your heart isn't easy, but it's important. There's a good reason for Paul to include this very important words in his writings to the church in Corinth. In his first letter he came with love, but in his second letter to discipline and reprimand the people. He even said:
2 Corinthians 2:4 "For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears; not so that you would be made sorrowful, but that you might know the love which I have especially for you". ALMOST as if he's saying he didn't want to write it.
There's a couple of reasons Paul mentions why people wouldn't make room for you in their hearts like:
1. When you wrong someone.
2. When you corrupt someone.
3. When you take advantage of someone.
When these things happens to you 1 of 2 things happens in your life.
1. You may Build a Bridge or
2 Or you may Build a Wall.
Building a bridge isn't easy. Bridges are more magnificent than erecting walls. Think about some stunning bridges...
- The Brooklyn Bridge
- The Golden gate bridge in San Francisco.
- The Manhattan Bridge
- The Millau Viaduct in southern France.
AND So many more....
You may see it on this link
To build bridges takes more courage as well as more wisdom, planning and engineering than the building of walls (in my opinion and I'm not a rocket scientist). It's much easier to build a wall than a bridge, won't you say?
Let's look at a couple of facts:
Walls divide people
Bridges bring people together.
Walls 'protect' people.
Bridges 'opens' people.
Walls block vision.
Bridges gives vision.
Walls keep people out.
Bridges allows people in...
Try your heart today and ask yourself this very important question. For how long did I lock people out of my life? Would it be possible to reconstruct a bridge and break down the wall of division?
Remember the 3 reasons Paul put at hand for us. I haven't done you wrong, I haven't corrupted or misled you and I haven't taken advantage of your goodness.
If this is not the case. Please forgive me.
I suggest you do the same with others.
"and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14 NASB
